We’ve just checked the TV listings and realised that ITV Wales think the stupid rugby is more important than the Grand Prix, despite having an exclusive contract to show the Grand Prix so that no one else can – which means everyone in Wales is stuffed! We have to go to England if we want to see the Grand Prix today.
Especially stupid this year, seeing as loads of people have joined the F1 bandwagon because a British driver is actually doing really well for a change.
You’d be surprised how many people do not want to watch the rugby here. As I said, 2007 is a good year for British Formula 1 and it has more followers than ever.
And just because I currently think rugby is ’stupid’, why does that mean I’m not Welsh?

There will be another GP along in a week or two, by which time Wales will be out of the World Cup and back home. So let them have their day.
you must be a non-welsh person living in wales because i doubt there are many other people thinking the same as you. I lived in Cardiff for a year and they go crazy when the rugby is on, the entire city practically shuts down when theres a home match on. So i’m guessing if ITV had chosen to put F1 on over the rugby there would have been a lot more complaints
Sorry to hear that, in England we can watch either, rugby is on ITV4, you would think they could put grand prix on ITV3 for Welsh viewers as I pressume more people in Wales will want to watch the rugby but you should have a choice.
i live in caerphilly, and i’m annoyed that the rugby is on two different ITV channels why cant they have rugby on one channel and the F1 on another, as it is i have to turn over to the London channel, i think the Rugby is also on S4C. As far as Cardiff shutting down when Rugby is on, i used to work in a pub just outside the city centre and thats where everyone will be!!!! the Pub. Seeing as nearly all pubs have sky TV, why not put the Rugby on Sky?? they do so for the 6 nations!!!!!
There is a Rugby World Cup once every 4 years, unlike the GP which is every year. I don’t personally like F1, but that doesn’t mean I will be calling it ’stupid’. I am also not convinced that “everyone in Wales is stuffed” as I reckon if you ask most Welsh people they would rather watch the rugby anyway.
oh no how cr@p is that for you. not everybody actually likes rugby, i don’t, so i can understand your frustrations. if you can’t find it on a freeview (sometimes you can get all the regional variations) you will have to watch the highlights later. stick on radio 5 live (if they aren’t covering the rugby too) and watch the live timings on it’s better than nothing. they won’t let people watch it on mobile tv either which is a bit of a bummer
It’s obvious that’s what they think. F1 is the best sport on earth and rugby doesn’t come close (for us F1 fans)!!!! It’s really terrible!
I’ll assume you don’t have cable or Sky, so watch it on your computer, or go to pub and ask if they’ll put the F1 on for you.
Absolutely stupid! I am a F1 follower, and I threw a real tantrum when they replaced the coverage from Monza with b****y rugby. Thank God for Sky TV and ITV England’s coverage.
And I was down the Arms Park last week (not the Millenium Stadium)
