Q : Was the TV coverage of Jose Mourinho’s departure over the top?

It was prominently covered on both the Lunchtime and Evening News on the BBC with a different reporter standing outside Stamford Bridge giving live commentary on each occasion. With what is going on in the world is this worthy of anything other than a passing mention at the end of the bulletin? Particularly when the vast majority of the population probably couldn’t care less what is going on at one football cub in one small area of London.
Perhaps sports page or gossip column inches might quite rightly be devoted to “news” of this kind but not surely our national public service TV broadcaster.

Nooooo, he’s a fun lively addition to otherwise gloomy news.

He is a very interesting character. Chelsea fan or not. And I most certainly am not.

Maybe it was but then CFC has a lot of supporters world wide. Does anyone remember Eamon Holmes on GMTV? Man U fan who couldn’t manage to refrain himself from either gloating or crying. Maybe Fiona feels the same way about Chelsea!

Foot ball means lots more than just a game to some people. So it was big news in a way if maybe be a little over the top too.
