to join RAF, you need 3 GCSE’s. I got them.

About United Kingdom, Manchester, Fallow field — how is this area
My friend is going to study in this area, he asked my advice, but i cannot tell him, so anyone here who knows about Fallow field of Manchester, please help.
(1) A Manchester ex resident said this place is deprived. Has high crime, and have to be very careful at night when go out, what do you think?
(2) it is council estates , what is the meaning?
(3) the school location is Wilbraham Road, Fallow field, M14 6JX, is it a bad area? (i mean high crime, poor,. unfriendly……..as the above manchester person said)
(4) To give you the details of the school location, it is about 20 minutes time walk from there to the city centre.
(5) if my friend wants to make local friends,( but it is a deprived and not safe area, people are not quite friendly as the above man said, )., is it possible?
(6) the northern accent is a great difference to southerners. it is quite hard to understand. eg : “bus”, they pronunce: boss, “but” , they pronunce “boot”, the speaking speed is faster than southerners, and the every inbetween words of a sentence is not clear. Do you think a person who only speak southern english is hard to survive or make friends with northerners because of the accent?

Just wondering, im watching Skins online. They keep calling there school college and im wondering if that’s like american high school, like higher learning for 14-18 years of age. Thank you.
so it’s different. in america we call college- high school and universities-college that is 18+

I’m from America and i want to apply there for my senior year (sixth form?) is it possible to apply there for just the last one or two years? I checked their website, but it was rather vague.
